Cute little site. “Matt” claims that he wants to:
gather information about the efficacy of prayer — from scientific studies, from the anecdotes of people joining the forum, from newspaper articles and newscasts — in one repository and encourage open discussion of that evidence.
Interesting, and I could see that being a useful site.

From the way you write this I’m guessing it’s a rhetoric question, but the answer doesn’t seem very obvious to me, so… why is that? The excerpts you quote don’t show any sarcasm and although the site makes it obvious that it’s made by a skeptic, I don’t see any ‘mockery’ around. So far, the owner only states he/she is going to accumulate as much evidence for and against prayer as he/she can.

I went over and had a look yesterday. Matt hasn’t gathered much information yet, but I gave him credit (there) and now give him credit (here) for presenting what he’s found in an accurate and unbiased manner.
I may have jumped to an incorrect conclusion.
